The government revised Government Regulation (PP) No. 77 Year 2014 on the Implementation of Mineral and Coal Mining. The submission of license renewal contract will be extended from the previous two years before the contract is up, to 10 years.
Observers constitutional law Yusril Mahendra remind the government to be careful in the process of renewal of mining contracts.
To date, Indonesia has been 'lost' in renewal of mining contracts, including contracts about PT Freeport Indonesia.
